THE LAST BOOKSTORE ON EARTH

by Lily Braun Arnold, for Listening Library

Two teen girls fall in love and fight for survival in an abandoned bookstore weeks before another cataclysmic storm threatens to bring about the end of the world in this unforgettable YA debut. Perfect for fans of Station Eleven and The Last of Us. “Hopeful, thrilling, and twisty…the snarky sapphic dystopian of our dreams.”- Jennifer Dugan

“Narrator Bailey Carr introduces listeners to Liz, a 17-year-old who is taking sanctuary in the bookstore she worked in before a cataclysmic storm left her one of the few survivors in New Jersey. Her use of pace and volume captures their distress, along with the horrors they face in the story's postapocalyptic world.”

PLAYING FOR KEEPS

by Jennifer Dugan, for Penguin Audio

June is the star pitcher of her elite club baseball team, with an ego to match, and she's a shoo-in to be recruited at the college level, like her parents have always envisioned. That is, if she can play through an overuse injury that has recently gone from bad to worse.

From the moment I pressed play, I was hooked. The narrative, expertly delivered by narrators Daisy Guevara and Bailey Carr, captured the perfect blend of youthful zeal and serious undertones. Both narrators have a knack for bringing Dugan’s characters to life, with a warmth that feels like you’re listening to old friends recount their lives.

Playing for Keeps is a home run in the world of YA sapphic romance. In essence, this audiobook is a testament to the power of love and dreams. It serves as a reminder that sometimes, playing for keeps means more than just winning a game—it’s about understanding and embracing who we are and whom we love.

SHE’S TOO PRETTY TO BURN

by Wendy Heard, for Dreamscape Audio

Veronica, a charismatic photographer, and Mick, a beautiful and seemingly fragile girl, who become entangled in a dangerous summer romance amidst the San Diego art scene, where their lives take a dark turn as obsession, manipulation, and potential murder threaten their connection.

The narrative was lively and vivid, it felt like it could have been happening to my neighbors and playing out right before my eyes. As I listened to Frankie Corzo, Bailey Carr and Stephen Dexter’s narration I could see Heard’s story playing out before me like a movie on the big screen. If you like a good audiobook, with a full cast of narrators, I highly recommend this one. Just be prepared to never look at a piece of artwork, or person, the same way again.
